If the monospot is: positive, it means that she either has mono now,or has had it in the past.There are also occasional false positives.Not everyone has all the classic symptoms of mono,so just having enlarged neck lymph nodes could be the only symptom.No need to see another doctor, but you could request a more comprehensive test, called EpsteinBarrVirus titers and a CBC to have confirmation.
