A member asked:

My right foot big toe has been numb from the tip for two years due to ill fitting shoes. do i need to worry? it doesn't bother me though.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sural nerve: You can have limited loss of feeling on the top and end of your big toe from shoe pressure on this nerve. If that is the cause, relax. It is only a little numbness. If the loss of feeling is to the entire toe, top and bottom, you could have a peripheral nerve disease a presage to diabetes. If that is so, watch your weight and check you blood with a physician. There are other less common causes.
