No, backwards.: Always best to get all restorative treatment and cleaning completed before the braces. I doubt the Orthodontist would proceed with you needing restorations. Good Luck.

Cavities/Braces: Cavities that are on the top (chewing) surface of your teeth can be filled after you have your braces placed. Any others that may involve the "in between" or proximal surfaces should be filled before. In general, it is best to have any cavities you have restored before you begin orthodontics since hygiene can be a bit more of a challenge once your braces are in place. Hope this helps.

No: Get the restorative work completed prior to the ortho. Also make sure that you come for frequent hygiene visits as dictated by your dentist to ensure optimum gingival health while you are having the orthodontic treatment, I as sure that your orthodontist would agree.

Absolutely not: Important that your mouth be disease-free before braces are placed. A cavity is an infection, and all infections of the teeth and gums must be eliminated before beginning Orthodontic Care. Also, easier for your General Dentist to treat your infections before all that hardware is placed. Once your Dentist certifies that you are disease-free, your Ortodontic Specialist can proceed with magic.

Fix Cavities First: before any orthodontic treatment. You should complete all necessary dental treatment, like filling, cleanings, etc, prior to receiving braces.

Cavites and braces: I would highly suggest taking care of any restorative dental work BEFORE starting orthodontic treatment. That is much easier.
