Here are some...: Creatinine is the common lab gauge to estimate renal function. Dialysis is the last resort managing end-stage renal disease before renal transplant. In practice, it would be most logical to refer this Q to his treating doctor for getting more pertinent answer since s/he should possess more of his medical info than anyone else online. So, unnecessary anxiety and confusion would be minimized.
