Acute renal failure: Typically, the level of creatinine is not used to decide on the need for dialysis. Rather, dialysis is used to lower urea in the blood and to manage blood salt abnormalities that cannot be managed medically. However, at a creatinine of 11.2 it is pretty likely that dialysis will be needed.
