A member asked:

Only have 1mm of hard gum tissue covering lower canine. it has receded due to gum disease however under control. will further recession happen anyway?

Depends: Depends on cause of recession. If infectious inflammatory gum disease controlled, recession may slow or stop. If tooth in trauma, or if it is expanded beyond it's boney housing, recession will continue. Ask a gum specialist, a Periodontist, to evaluate and advise.

Yes, it is possible: because gum recession is a progressive condition. If the recession persists, a procedure known as a "gum graft surgery" may be performed by a periodontist.
