Plantar fasciitis: Heal pain that is worse in morning and improves on walking is most likely caused by plantar fasciitis . It can be treated by wearing well fitted shoes that cushion feet, avoiding long distance walks, using painkillers .In most cases pain resolves within a year but if pain is not improving then one can see their GP or a podiatrist .

Planter Fasciitis: This condition is usually self limiting but the duration it will take to resolve is not fixed. There is inflammation of the planter fascia ( strong band of tissue stretching from heel to the mid foot). 1 in 10 people develop it in their life time. Treatment will include foot rest, heel pads and arch supports, pain relief, stretching exercise. For more info please see www.patient.co.uk

Consider podiatrist: May I suggest a podiatrist - high heals might be the cause.

Plantar fasciitis: Agree with comments here. Occasionally can indicate other associated joint disorders so it may be worth discussion of further investigations with your GP. Often though no clear precipitating cause and difficult to treat although options include foot arch support, cortisone injection, physiotherapy and surgical options.
