Pain in achilles tendon getting worse espcially in the morning and after resting. there is now a small lump on the achilles tendon above the heel that is very tender to touch. what should i do? i am a spanish dancer?

Injury: An Achilles tendon tear or even rupture is not uncommon in athletes, dancers, and even regular folks doing routine exercise. See an orthopedic surgeon. Put your dancing on hold until this is stabilized.

Very difficult : Achilles tendinitis with associated lumps are very difficult to resolve. Chances are you have micro tears but a complete tear is highly unlikely. This is not a problem that will go away quickly. It is one of the worst healing areas of the body because of lack of circulation. Requires extensive period of immobilization followed by extensive strengthening program. Ice massage,ultrasound.
