A member asked:

I was diagnosed with tick bite fever on 13 feb. since then im struggling to get back into running. suddenly struggling with stiff and sore achilles heels. can tick bite fever cause severe muscle pain, stiffness and tendon soreness or injuries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tick bite fever: Muscle soreness is certainly listed as one of the symptoms of tick bite fever, but heel pain and tendon involvement don't appear likely. In addition I assume you completed a course of an appropriate antibiotic and that you have no ongoing headache, rash or fever. Postinfectious complications affect actual joints. Your heel pain may be due to plantar fasciitis and associated tendonitis. See MD forRx
