Is quikclot gauze advisable for me to carry around, with all the shootings going on everywhere?

See below: What will you do with it? Shootings, the reports in the news notwithstanding are uncommon events. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.

Impractical: ABCs of managing trauma/wounds is worth learning rather, at any rate those incidents remain rare despite the publicity, and EMS or any first aid kits kept in cars or around should suffice, wishing you all health and safety

Not practical: Despite reports in the media, multiple shootings incidents are rare, more rare than lightning strikes. Be prudent, be safe, and in the case of any traumatic injury seek PROFESSIONAL care.

Not necessary: However, I recommend Red Cross First Aid and CPR training. Your first-aid skills may just save your life or life of others in any emergency situation.

No: These are used by the military for large fragmentation devices that avulse large soft tissue areas of the body ( ie. blow your arm/leg off) Civilian GSW are penetrating trauma where most of the bleeding is internal and these bandages would be of no avail.

No: Not unless you have training on how and when to use it. Basic first aid and CPR class are more useful for the general public.
