Wound care: It is a good idea to change the dressings on a wound when they are contaminated or visibly soiled. Hopefully you have a Wound Nurse or someone you can coordinate with- since you want to practice clean technique and of course minimize any pain that might occur. I would expect too you have a follow-up with the doc who did the surgery - so I would call there if you don't have any outpatient resources
