Bandage: The gauze often adheres to dried blood making it difficult to remove. You may try soaking the gauze with hydrogen peroxide for several minutes before trying to unwrap it. If this is unsuccessful, apply neosporin ointment to the gauze and try again in several hours.

Best way to go: The gauze is stuck because some of the blood and fluid from the cut edge dried and has stuck. Soaking the gauze really well will help a bit but for better or worse, you will have to get it off. Best trick it to then gently apply traction on the gauze and then using a finger, push the skin away from the gauze. Do not pull the gauze away. There will be a second of pain and a little blood.
