Neither: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a sleeping pill. It will do little for your reaction. You must not drive when you use it. 10mg hydroxyzine is a very small dose but it is even more soporific than benadryl (diphenhydramine). These have caused many accidents even when people did not feel sleepy. For itch, rub in some cortisone, preferably prescription strength. If you want antihistamine, get Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec.
