Insect bites: Topical benadryl, (diphenhydramine) topical cortisone. --both over the counter, both every 3 hours. Cold compresses will help. Be sure no infectionbis present. Dont scratch

Hydrocortisone cream: Try hydrocortisone cream. You can buy it over the counter. It comes in different strenghts. Use the cream with the stronger dose. Make sure the product that you buy has USP on it, for Unites States Pharmacopoiea.
