Yes and Yes: One ovary can be normal on ultrasound and the other ovary can be polycystic. The cysts are follicles that have grown excessively. Abnormalities in pituitary hormone release and/or overproduction of androgens by the ovary contribute to the initial development of multiple follicles with no dominant follicle developing. Primolut N is a progesterone and can be used alone in selected patients.
