Endometrial thickness over 14 mm is considered abnormal in any stage of the menstrual cycle. Endometrial polyps are usually benign. The presence if PCOS & its hormonal changes may increase endometrial thickness. A gynecologist, especially with experience with PCOS, is best to advise and follow you.

Irregular bleeding is common with a history of "PCOS", and the "16mm" endometrial thickening reflects constant estrogen effect on the endometrium, which usually requires a biopsy. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral bcp's, which suppress ovarian function and will assist in preventing abnormal cells in the endometrium.
