Tests are accurate: Home or clinic urine pregnancy tests are very accurate. A correctly done home urine test will give a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after possible conception) or 1 week after missing a period. A woman can repeat the test if she did the first test too early, such as less than two weeks after conception. Tests stay positive in pregnancy and do not turn negative until after delivery.
