A member asked:

What does it mean when a spirometry test (lung function) shows a restrictive trend?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Restrictive change: Restrictive changes mean that you generally can get air in and out but just less (like your lungs are restricted... Like belly is restricted when your belt is too tight). Restrictive changes can be internal based on lung function (scarring, etc) or external factors (like scoliosis or abdominal obesity).
