Try otc: Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Consult with your doctor, because you might need stronger meds, such as steroids. You also need more antibiotics in order to complete treatment of strep throat.

Hives: Diphenhydramine 25-50 mg is your best bet. If hives effect your mouth or breathing it may quickly develop into a life threatening emergency. If that is the case, seek medical attention immediately.
