I've rec'd amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hrs for 10 days for a strep infection. this is day 6. my throat looks better than the all over angry red w white spot like the head of a pin; now, my throat isn't as red but the white spot is now nickel size?

I had strep throat with a middle ear infection for 18 days. I completed an amoxicillin course of 20 tablets, and because of the middle ear I had to do myringotomy too, but even after that I still have a phlegm cough , and sore throat. Is this serious?
