A member asked:

Is the prozone effect a problem with hiv tests? should i worry about/doubt my negative hiv test result?

HIV testing: Your interpretation of your negative HIV test will be based pre-test probability. If you are at high risk or very motivated for certainty consider a CD4 count.

No prozone: Prozone is a phenomenon that can make some syphilis blood tests falsely negative. It is not known to be a problem for any HIV tests. As long as you were tested long enough after your last possible exposure, you can rely on the negative result.
