Try using: an "eye cup" (OTC ask pharmacist) and soaking with plain warm water.. If this does not help a visit to an OPTHAMOLOGIST is indicated ..you may have an infection of your eyelid (Called BLEPHARITIS) This REQUIRES antibiotics (by Prescription) Hope this helps! Dr Z

Could be: Pink eye in general means that you have a severe virus that causes significant itchiness. Most people however with a crusting, eye redness, lid swelling have an unstable tear film from blepharitis. See Eyedoc2020.blogspot.com "lid hygiene" on how to use warm compresses & diluted tea tree oil scrubs on closed lashes to help.

Probably not: pink eye (conjunctivitis), which makes the inside of your eye pink and swollen with discharge, and is caused by a virus, a bacteria, or an allergy. When the lid is affected, we think more of blepharitis, a developing stye, or allergies. It's not a bad idea to get seen and have an actually diagnosis, as the treatment is different for each.
