Could nucynta (tapentadol) be prescribed for post op severe pain for fulkerson osteotomy? if so what dose would be appropriate if comparing to 5-10mg oxycodone?

Yes: All narcotic medications bind the same receptor with different affinity making some more efficacious at lower doses. The Oxycodone should be fine and and you shouldn't need it for very long. Get off of it as soon as you can. Why do you want to use Nucynta (tapentadol) instead?
