Infected lymph nodes: Swelling in the armpit which is painful is due to enlarged infected lymph nodes and it can keep recurring. It can happen by shaving,use of deodorants and irritation..you have seen your GP,. Were you treated with antibiotics or not, Sometimes the lymph nodes have to be excised and biopsied as there are other causes of these lumps called Hydradenitis Suppurutiva which is a genetic condition
