Depends . . .: Big sore lump in armpit is most likely due to infection, whether ingrown hair, abscess or swollen gland. Whether to worry depends upon your overall health eg diabetes, cancer, poor immune system etc. Some medications increase risk for infections. Try heat/warm compresses for infections (save cold/ice packs for injuries). Mark outline of lump w/pen. Don't wait for appt if fever or lump gets bigger
