Virtussin AC vs DAC: It's always a good idea to tell prescribing doc everything about your health & all that you're taking so that s/he can prescribe (if necessary) safely for you. Both Virtussin AC & Virtussin DAC contain codeine which is a weak narcotic to suppress cough. Both also contain guaifenesin which is an expectorant. Virtussin DAC also contains decongestant which can increase blood pressure but AC doesn't.
