Vestibular transecti: Chronic (persisting for > 3mo) vertigo is not usually treated with vestibular nerve transection. In méničre's disease characterized by episodes of severe disabling vertigo which has not responded to gentamicin ablation cutting the nerve is an option. Usually chronic unilateral inner ear disease responds to balance retraining exercises. Strongly suggest you see a neurootologist, expert in balance.
