Vertigo: This is a bad sign indicating significant bone erosion and endolymphatic fistula. You need to contact your ENT and advise him or her of your symptoms. You need to limit exertion or change in atmospheric pressure and you absolutely cannot submerge your head under water.

You need surgery now: Medications is not the answer. You need to have the cholesteatoma removed ASAP. I suggest you talk to your ENT surgeon and tell him or her about your new increased symptoms. They will probably want to get your syrgery done sooner than later.
