A member asked:

I'm currently experieincing knee pain, and my doctor has put me on 800mg or ibuprofen, and two 220mg of aleve (naproxen). is it safe to take nyquill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is incorrect: There has been a misunderstanding here. Either 800mg ibuprofen three times daily OR 2x 220mg Alleve twice daily is ok, but these two medications are essentially the same thing and should not be taken together at max dosing. It is ok to combine ibuprofen with acetaminophen (tylenol) for pain that doesn't respond to either alone. If the NyQuil brand product has ibuprofen or naproxen in it, no.
