Absurd: That is an absurd and totally incorrect piece of advice. All of these meds have similar GI risks. If you must take an NSAIDs, take a med regularly to treat your GERD such as Prilosec, Protonix, Nexium, (esomeprazole) etc.

I can't...: ...since all medications you've listed contain NSAID's. You may want to address your request for rationale to the physician who gave you the advice in question.

Don't agree: Arthrotec has stomach protective agent which coats the Diclofanac. Likely much safer, GI wise, than Advil (ibuprofen) or Alleve. I think its risky to take so much antiinflammatory. should be carefully monitored.
