It's a process..: It will probably take a few sessions before becoming comfortable with your therapist. Your therapist is also in the process of getting to know you and your history. It may be helpful to let her/him know that you are struggling. Allow her/him to assist you with initiating sensitive and emotionally charged issues. Take your time, and be compassionate with yourself and your present needs.
