Check fasting BG: You shouldn't need to stop metformin when taking most antibiotics, but if you are worried that your prediabetes has progressed to diabetes, have your doctor order a fasting blood glucose or if concern is very high, a 2 hour glucose tolerance test. Then discuss with your doctor restarting your metformin or not
