There is a link: Young ladies with PCOS have higher insulin levels and may develop diabetes. Metformin helps to reduce the risk of diabetes. Metformin and exercise can help to lower weight and sugar levels.

PCOS & DM related!: PCOS in most women is associated w insulin resistance, which through a complicated pathway actually contributes to condition. By the age of 40 about 35% of women with PCOS have DIABTETES or prediabetes & metformin lowers the risk. In PCOS it also seems help with weight loss. Lastly, it has been shown to help reg menses & help some women ovulate & poss get & maintain preg. PCOS is a Gyn & Endo dz!
