A member asked:

Would someone in an induced coma recovering from severe sepsis with no brain damage & are able to breath without assistant of machinery be on the mend?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sounds like it: The object of medically induced 'coma' is to lessen the stress of treatment for severe sepsis. 'Bringing the patient back' from this experience requires trained and very attentive professionals, and it sounds like that is happening. So with recovery of brain, lung, and presumably heart and GI function, likely to be 'on the mend'.
