After lap band weightloss, will you need to have surgery to get rid of the excess skin?

Depends: Younger, non-smokers with healthy skin may bounce back better and not show as much sagging. Older patients with less elasticity in their skin may not respond as well and sag. Exercising to build some muscle to replace the fat may help some.

Lap band skin: It is hard to predict if a person will have a lot of excess skin after losing weight. The more weight you lose, the more likely you will have excess skin. Also, younger patients tend to have more elastic skin that shrinks back more than it does in older patients. I wouldn't worry about it. If you end up with a lot of excess skin, be proud, because that means you were successful and lost weight!
