I shrug, too!: It's hard to say what these lumps may be without further testing, if your doc could not tell what they were on physical exam. Ask for a referral to an orthopedist or a dermatologist, whichever your doc thinks would be most helpful.

Hard to : Tell.Any change in size. Without benefit of examination consideration will be benign tumors like cyst or lipoma. Carbuncle less likely because of long duration and other less likely causes. May seek a second opinion if worried
