I've read instances where after taking vancomycin, patients were paralyzed. can this medicine affect the spine and do this?? or am i reading too much?

Reading too much!: Every time I research problems that apply to me, I invariably think I might as well sign up for hospice! So I share your initial panic and glad to explain. There was a very rare case of paralysis in a child who received vancomycin, but if you read the report, they concluded it was not likely to have been due to that. Only other case of muscle weakness went away when gentamycin was stopped.
