Depends: If the thrombosis needed blood thinners and compression stockings or antiinflammatories, compression stockings, or interventional removal of the thrombus.......

Blood thinners: I agree with dr. Morrison's answer. The most important things though, is that proper anticoagulation be given and done so for an appropriate period of time. This is generally 3-6 months, although if there is an underlying tendency for increased clotting in a person they might need to be on blood thinners for life.
