Amoxicillin is one: A number of different antibiotics will work depending on your allergy history or sensitivity to them.

There are many: antibiotics that can be used in this situation. Doxycycline and tetracycline are commonly prescribed, as are clindamycin and 3rd generation cephalosporins which have good gram negative and anaerobic activity. Augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) a penicillin derivative, has also been used, as does sulfamethoxazole derivative. Which one is best depends on whether you have allergic reactions to any of these.

Prescription: Have your dentist evaluate the tooth. Antibiotics alone will not solve the problem.
