Is it still ok to take meds. and breastfeed at the same time while giving my newborn medication?

What meds?: Some meds are safe when breastfeeding, some are not. Meds in breast milk may interact with meds your baby takes, too. Does the doctor who prescribed them know that you are breastfeeding? Does the doctor who prescribed your child meds, know that you are breastfeeding and taking meds, too? If not, call the doc who gave meds to baby and see. Or ask again and specify meds for both of you.
