Generally 10-12: A newborn should generally breastfeed about 10-12 times in 24 hours. Mixing formula and breastfeeding is very likely to decrease your milk supply. Why mix formula in at all? I suggest working a lactation consultant who can help you, or at least reaching out to a local peer support group through local hospital, La Leche League or Breastfeeding USA . Www.ilca.org
