4-6 weeks: The restoration to seal the tooth must be started within 4-6 weeks, after completion of the root canal therapy. In any case, if you need a crown, you should get a temporary crown or filling ASAP.

RCT-gutta percha: Gutta percha is the inert material placed into the canal space that was cleaned and shaped by the dentists. The access opening was probably sealed with a temporary material. At the very least have the dentist place a permanent build up material to protect the root canal filling. Eventually the tooth will need to be crowned. Do not wait more than 2-4 weeks.
