Sorry for so many questions. after the extraction yesterday i notice the tooth that had a failed root canal was infected and split in half, half ot it seems to be there. i called but answer was wait2 week. is it safe to be with that thing in there?

Take a course of antibiotics for 1 week to 10 days, to be prescribed by your dentist as you have mentioned that it is infected tooth. 2 weeks waiting period your dentist gave is okay as along as you don't have fever/chills/difficulty in opening the mouth .

If you are not in pain , you can wait till your next visit and your Dentist can take X-ray to rule out any tooth fragments left in socket. At times the bone margin of socket feels like broken part of tooth which disappears over time but if it causes pain during healing the sharp edges can be removed by your Dentist
