A member asked:

If you do not place dentures after you have had extractions, can that cause jaw/pain issues especially if you have several comorbities such as fybro?

Any: Any pain, bleeding, or swelling is a red flag indication further investigation is warranted. Loss of teeth can lead to jaw going dysfunction and pain. Post surgical infection can result in jaw pain. Please see your Dentist for an examination, differential diagnosis, and treatment plan.

Perhaps: Should expect some level of pain/discomfort after multiple tooth extractions.Often the placement of immediate dentures diminishes this feeling. As we age,our body heals more slowly, thereby lengthening the time of discomfort. My patients with Fibro tell me that they are often more sensitive to painful stimuli and the feeling lasts longer.Sounds consistent.Follow your Surgeon's instructions.Good Luck
