Worrisome: Stuttering is occasionally seen in normal kids 2-5 as a transitional stage while becoming self aware while learning communication skills. Normal stuttering usually fades within 6 mo with no external effort. When it begins later in life, is accompanied by obvious embarrassment/struggling, interferes with school work, etc.,it is time to seek the help of a speech & language specialist.
