A member asked:

Both foetal kidneys show slight pelvic dilations about 0.3 cm and foetal growth is satisfactory. duration of gestation is 36+3 weeks.should i be worried ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pelvic dilation: Dilation of the pelvis of the kidneys is a fairly common finding and usually is of no significance. It is possible that this represents some sort of uretero-pelvic constriction but if all is otherwise normal in this pregnancy then I would not worry. Ultrasounds after birth can help clarify if this is a problem or not.
