Standard dental: floss is generally considered the most effective tool for cleaning the tight spaces between the teeth. The WaterPik can help remove food particles but it really isn't as good as brushing and flossing. If plain dental floss gets stuck, used waxed. Try a floss pic/holder or special brushes, picks or sticks designed to clean between the teeth. BUT, the WaterPik is better than nothing. Good wishes:)

Not the same: Dental floss provides a mechanical removal or bacteria & debris which a waterpik cannot duplicate. Use the waterpik to remove food particles & massage the gums near the teeth and floss between the teeth (contacts) All the best...

Floss better: But WaterPik better than brushing alone. Talk to your Dentist about customizing an oral hygiene program for you. Let's face it, most people don't use floss daily. Water irrigator second best alternative. PLEASE use one or the other daily.
