Probably fine.: Most black spots are a result from trauma to the toe. Blood may be trapped under the nail and, in time, it may turn black. Of course, there could be other reasons. A more focused examination might be in order if there is no history of hurting the toe. An experience clinician should have no problem in discerning the difference.
