A member asked:

Is it common for adults (41 years) to have a prominent bump from osgood schlatters? i was told my bump was from that, but never had pain as a child.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Osgood Schlatter's: The shape of the tibial tubercle (or attachment of the knee cap tendon) varies among individuals. Some have large prominences here, others not. Osgood Schlatter's is a condition mostly in pre-adolescent boys where the tubercle growth center becomes painful before it fuses. These kids can develop enlarged tubercles as adults. You unlikely had the condition, but have a larger tubercle than most
