Many people say positive ana means nothing as many people without lupus can have that. why is it done to screen for lupus then- if it means nothing?

Titer: If ANA is detected only in serum diluted to about 40 fold, it does not mean a whole lot. However, if it still present after the serum has been diluted 160 fold, it does mean auto-immune response. In other words, the strength of ANA matters. ANA IFA screen test= results were ANA screen, IFA positive & ANA Titer 1:160 & screening detecting the presence of 150 autoantibodies in various autoimmune diseases, ANA Patterns (ROQ)= normal, would it be Systemic Lupus or drug-induced Lupus?
